Graffiti forum brisbane 2010

Last week the Queensland Government held a Graffiti Forum to discuss the problem involved with Graffiti. Prevention, Solutions and other similar issues were talked about. Unfortunately they would just let anyone enter this forum, tickets cost a frilly $500 and if they suspected that tickets buyers had anything to do with Graffiti they would not be sold tickets. This is clearly an opportunity for a bunch of like minded idiots to come up with expensive and unjust ways to deal with a problem they still don’t understand.

I haven’t heard how it went, I’ve only just seen a small clip on the news. They seem to think graffiti is the worst thing in the world. I realise graffiti costs money to paint over/clean. I realise that a lot of graffiti is not enjoyed by the public. But they say ‘now its starting to be accepted by the public and thats unacceptable’. This is ridiculous. If its being accepted by the public, its because people are looking at graffiti and thinking ‘maybe I dont mind seeing that bit of colour, even if I dont understand it, it still looks ok and I dont mind it there’.

There is so much real shit going on, graffiti is a grain of sand on crime beach. They didn’t even ask for permission to use one of my pieces for they’re online flyer. I guess there’s no law when you are the law. You can check it out here…
